چکیده

This paper presents an effort to construct a multiuser (MU) multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) broadcast channel (BC) model. Our method is able to adequately build in the correlation and mutual coupling, which are important factors affecting the multi-antenna arrays. This helps to decrease the need for complex mathematical analysis and allows an easy simulation of the MU MIMO BC performance. The charac-terizations of MU MIMO systems are done and the impact of varying the number of transmitting and receiving antennas is explored. These insights are useful in physical realization of the systems.

Multiuser MIMO degrees of freedom with no CSIT

We provide the characterization of the degrees of freedom (DOF) region for a 2-user fading MIMO broadcast channel when perfect channel knowledge is available to the receivers and no channel knowledge is available to the transmitters. The results are applied to find the DOF region for some special cases of a 2-user MIMO interference channel. We also extend the outerbound of the DOF region to fin...

Duality, dirty paper coding, and capacity for multiuser wireless channels

We introduce techniques that shed new light on the capacity analysis of multiuser channels, and apply these techniques to broadcast and multiple access channels. We rst determine a duality between broadcast and multiple access channels that can be used to obtain the capacity region and optimal transmission strategy for one channel based on the capacity-achieving transmission strategy and region...

Sum-capacity, Scheduling, and Multi-user Diversity in Mimo Broadcast Systems a Dissertation Submitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Committee on Graduate Studies of Stanford University in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy

Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication systems and multiuser diversity (MUDiv) are two important foundations that allow future wireless systems to achieve a higher data rate. Earlier studies show that with an efficient use of spatial and user domains, communication systems can achieve data rate close to the fundamental capacity limit. However, these studies are based on the ideal a...

Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding for Multiuser MIMO Systems with Quantized CSI Feedback and User Scheduling

This paper studies the sum rate performance of a low complexity quantized CSI-based Tomlinson-Harashima (TH) precoding scheme for downlink multiuser MIMO tansmission, employing greedy user selection. The asymptotic distribution of the output signal to interference plus noise ratio of each selected user and the asymptotic sum rate as the number of users K grows large are derived by using extreme...

Finite Rate Feedback MIMO Broadcast Channels

This paper summarizes recent results on the multiple antenna broadcast (downlink) channel with finite rate feedback of channel state information from each receiver. In this model, the receivers are assumed to have perfect channel knowledge, while the transmitter gains channel knowledge through a finite rate feedback channel from each receiver. The SNR degradation as a function of the feedback r...
